Heights Hill Senior Shuttle Update

Heights and Hills will be working with the new provider to make sure that the transition goes smoothly and while the service may look different (meaning there probably won’t be a Shuttle making the same loop around the neighborhood), individuals who use Heights and Hills’ current service will still be able to get transportation to the same destinations. We will be working to make sure prior to July 1 that everyone has the information they need so that there will be as little service interruption as possible. A letter will be going out next week to all who have used Heights and Hills transportation in the past year so that they have all the information they need to arrange transportation.

Seniors interested in the shuttle can contact Heights and Hills at (718) 596-8789 or [email protected]

Long Time CPN Handyman Victor Gonzalez Dies

We learned today of the passing of Victor Gonzalez, one of the very first “handymen” to work at CPN as early as 1967, the year our building opened. Long timers will remember his kind personality and wonderful demeanor. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Officers From 84th Precinct Visit CPN

Those lucky enough to have attended CPN’s May 3rd Open Board Meeting got the chance to meet our Neighborhood Coordination Team from the 84th Precinct. Officers John Condon (left)  and Donovan Hunt (right) took questions from shareholders and gave us the latest updates about how the NYPD is working to keep our area safe. Much of the conversation focused on the warm weather crowds that are expected from Brooklyn Bridge Park which is becoming a huge issue for us here at 140. This summer, an increased NYPD presence will hopefully keep things a bit calmer. Thanks to Community Affairs Chair Rick Landy for organizing.
